Maritime structures offer unique challenges given the harsh environmental conditions they are exposed to. Drawing on our international experience in the design of maritime structures, D+A strives to provide clients with optimised designs which will prolong the service life of critical infrastructure at ports.
D+A Engineers have extensive experience in the application of innovative construction techniques including the design of strengthening and specification of corrosion protection to extend the service life of maritime structures.
Given the continuously changing export requirements at ports, D+A are often called upon to conduct assessments of changes made to shiploaders, material storage facilities, hoppers or bollards to facilitate either new vessels or changes in export materials. D+A also regularly conduct load rating assessments of berths, dolphins, jetties and wharfs for port authorities wishing to modify mooring arrangements or looking to increase wharf loading.
Again D+A Engineers draw on their experience in complex structural and geotechnical modelling, including the use of Finite Element Analysis, to ensure the full recognition of capacity is achieved.
