Drawing on our core values, D+A have assisted clients in ensuring safe, efficient and uninterrupted production of their operations.  Our clients benefit from our experience in the civil and structural engineering design of material handling infrastructure for a large variety of commodities including coal, mineral sands, iron ore and gold.  D+A’s Engineers have lead and supported multidisciplinary teams to develop world class mining infrastructure that has led to the delivery of some of the world’s largest mining ventures.

Mining developments offer unique challenges in the variety of infrastructure required for an operationally reliable mine site.  D+A draws on our experience from all market sectors to pursue the best design outcome for infrastructure supporting the full supply chain from pit to port.  Our engineers keep in regular contact with suppliers, fabricators and construction companies to ensure we are up to date on the latest construction methodologies for bot greenfield and brownfield modification projects.

We are often called on to resolve structural safety issues on site at short notice.  D+A strive to minimise impact on production and employ the latest Finite Element Analysis (FEA) techniques to resolve structural and civil engineering problems for clients whether it is structural dynamics or excitation, excessive settlement of foundations, structural fatigue cracking, excessive deformation of structural members, corrosion degradation of structural members or accidental damage to structural components.

Having conducted numerous structural reliability investigations on mining infrastructure, including compliance studies and failure assessments, our Engineers are uniquely equipped to design durable and robust process supporting infrastructure meeting regulatory requirements.  We have seen what can go wrong, and use our experience to develop engineering solutions which reduce our clients’ risk exposure over the mine’s full operational life.
